Twin districts of South Kashmir observe shutdown for 4th straight day

Srinagar, May 9: The twin districts of Pulwama and Shopian in South Kashmir observed a shutdown for the fourth straight day against the killing of militants and civilians.

Reports said that shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained shut while transport also remained off the roads.

Six civilians and five militants including Hizb Commander Sadam Paddar were killed on Sunday in a gunfight and subsequent clashes at Badigam village of Shopian district.

Meanwhile, life limped back to normalcy in Valley except Shopian and Pulwama after four days. Life was disrupted in Kashmir capital Srinagar after the Chattabal encounter in which three militants including LeT commander Showkat Tak were killed. (CNS)
