Militants lob 2 grenades on CRPF in Srinagar, Pulwama

Srinagar, July 06(KMW): Militants lobbed two grenades on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), including a camp, at separate places in Kashmir valley on Friday.

Official sources said that militants lobbed a grenade at a CRPF patrol party at Pantha Chowk near crowded bus stand on Srinagar-Jammu national highway in the city outskirts on Friday. However, they said no one was injured in the attack.

They said militants managed to escape due the chaos created following the grenade attack, adding that security forces have been rushed and a search operation has been launched in the area to nab the attackers.

Meanwhile, militants hurled a grenade at a CRPF camp in village Tahab in south Kashmir district of Pulwama at around 2010 hrs. But, they said that the grenade exploded outside the camp.

They said after the attack, on-duty sentry fired several shots in the air following which the militants escaped from the spot. A search operation has been launched in the area to nab the attackers.
