No strike on 05, 09, 10, 11 Sep; ‘UN Challo’ on 13 Sep
Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani Thursday issued fresh 10-day protest Calendar as part of its “Quit Kashmir Campaign”, beginning September 05.
According to the protest chart, the amalgam has kept four days—05, 09, 10 and 11 September, outside the purview of the shutdown while as it has called for “UN Challo” on September 13.
The veteran leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani said that there will be no strike on September 05. On the day, he said, people will make necessary purchase for Shab-e-Qadar while rich would distribute Zakat and Sadaqa among the poor.
“On September 06 and 07, there would be complete strike and people are urged to stage protests from morning to Asar prayers.”
On September 08, Geelani said, the day would be observed in solidarity with the detainees. “Special prayers in favor of the detainees would be offered on the day while people are urged to visit families of the detainees.”
There will be no strike on 09, 10 and 11 September on eve of the Eid-ul-Fitr, he said, asserting that people should observe the festivities with austerity while remembering those families who have lost their beloved ones. “On September 12, there would be complete strike and people are urged to stage peaceful protests from morning to Assar prayers.”
On September 13, the octogenarian leader called for Sonawar Challo. “A memorandum would be submitted to UN peace keepers group,” he said.
On September 14, there would be strike upto 1600 (4 pm) while the remaining part has been kept for purchase.
“There would be complete strike on September 15 and people are urged to stage protests after offering Zuhr and Assar prayers,” he added.
Syed Ali Shah Geelani also reiterated that there is no change in the already announced program upto September 04. As part of the program, there will be no strike tomorrow.
